What is the access to car show area like?

Car show vehicles will be directed over ramps to get over the parking berm and swale leading to the soccer fields. Ramp design has been improved to prevent the teeter-totter effect. Ramps will be marked with parking guides to help drivers know they are on the ramp.

Can I park my eligible car next to my friend's?

Only if you and your friend, are both driving air-cooled vehicles or both driving water-cooled vehicles  AND arrive together.

If both cars are in preferred parking you can park together, if you arrive together.

Saving Parking Spaces Is Not Allowed!

May I bring my dog(s)?

Well behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Owners must pick up after their dogs and are liable for any injuries or damage their dog may cause.

Will food and restrooms be available on site?

Yes we will have several food trucks, and portable toilets and hand washing stations.

What does it cost to register a Show Vehicle?

Registration Cost for a vehicle in the car show is $30 online and $40 at the gate. Online registration will close May 16th or when we run out of spaces whichever comes first.

How do I register online?

Go to https://www.govwec.org/car-show-preregistration/

Fill out the form completely. Hit the submit button and you will be taken to the website store to pay $30. Registration is not completed until you pay.

Is there a swap meet?

Yes, there is a Swap Meet. You can purchase a 10′ x 10′ space for $15 or 10′ x 20′ space for $25 online, price goes up the day of the show and must be paid in cash. Tow vehicles must not be parked in the swap meet space without special permission, there will be an area near the swap meet designated for tow vehicles.

Go to swap meet registration to register for a space. Registration is not complete until the space is paid for.

What is Preferred Parking?

Preferred parking is reserved parking ($15 online, $20 at the show) for eligible vehicles that do not wish to participate for a trophy. The preferred parking area will be next to the car show vehicles. It will save you a long walk from Spectator parking.

Which vehicles are eligible for the car show?

Eligible Vehicles are:

  • Any Volkswagen branded vehicle Volkswagen ever made
  •  Any vehicle powered by any engine ever manufactured by Volkswagen
  •  Any  Porsche ever made including replicas
  • Any Audi ever made

Eligible Vehicles may register to compete for a trophy or may park in Preferred parking.

What if I just show up with my show car without pre-registering?

You will need to pay full day of show price ($40)

Judging begins at 10 AM and ends at Noon. Vehicles arriving after 10 AM will probably not be parked with similar vehicles ( i.e., Split or Bay Window buses, campers, and trucks are parked in Bus row) but instead will be grouped; this may impact how many people vote for a vehicle in its trophy class.

Why is VWEC encouraging preregistration for Show cars, Preferred parking and Swap Meet

Pre-registration ensures that after you drive out to the Park, there is a space waiting for you (swap meet, preferred parking, show vehicle parking).  Additionally, some effort will be made to get similar cars parked together (that is we will have bus row and will try to have a bug area and a water cooled area.

Is there an ATM at the show?

Not in the park, but there are ATMs at banks and businesses at the major intersections near the park.

What is a windshield card

A Windshield Card is an 8 ½” by 11″ form printed on Card Stock. It contains the Class the vehicle is competing in, the vehicle number, the make, model, year, and type of engine (air-cooled, water-cooled, or electric). The card also gives space for an owner to add other interesting information about their vehicle.
